Excerpt - "The Confession"

“Solomon Temple Investments, how may I help you?”

“Umm, yes, I’d like to, ahh… confess.”

“One moment, sir, I’ll pass you to one of our priests.” Elevator muzak tinkled in the phone receiver for a few moments.

“Samuel, senior investment partner, speaking. What is your confession?”

“Bless me Father, for I have sinned… I used to be the CEO of a multinational land development / agrochemical / food products conglomerate. We always placed near the top of the Fortune 500; we gave our shareholders solid equity for decades; we were the very definition of Blue Chip. But now, the Company is collapsing, and people say it’s my fault. I think the Market has wrought a terrible vengeance on me for my sins.”

“I see. What do you think those sins were, my son?”
